Symptoms Of Mesothelioma
Asbestos, a naturally occurring mineral in the earth, has been the major cause of mesothelioma. The majority of the people who have been exposed to asbestos fibers have been in the military, or factory work, or involved in companies that manufactured insulation for buildings. Asbestos has already been outlawed in most industrialized countries, but its effects are still being felt today in those who have most likely inhaled it while working. It is these people who will be most likely to exhibit symptoms of mesothelioma.
What are the symptoms of mesothelioma ? Symptoms can include chest pain or abdominal pain as well as swelling of the abdomen, shortness of breath, inability to eliminate, abnormal blood clotting activity, anemia and fever. This disease has the ability to lie dormant for many years before any symptoms are shown, perhaps even up to fifty years. Some other symptoms of mesothelioma include chronic cough, getting the same infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia constantly, pain of the bones, swelling of the neck or face, and jaundice. While having just one or two of the things on this list will not automatically mean you have mesothelioma, nevertheless these could be warning signs.
